Health Fair... Betting on Education! / Feria de Salud...Apostándole a la Educación!

This week has been one of the busiest... as You can see I haven't been able to write, and a lot has happen!!! Today took place the first Health Fair that I ever done, and also my first public event as an entrepenur with Gano Itouch/ Ganoexcel International. I am in charge of the clinic of a church, best known as Calvary Chapel El Salvador, which also has a school, So I take care of the health of all the church's employees, school's teachers, the students and everyone else who wants to pass medical consultation, because the clinic is open to the general public. Today, for the first time, We had a Health Fair  for the students, their parents, and friends. Praise the Lord, He took care of everything!!! The whole school was involved! Team work! There was a beautiful display of the student's abilities, dance, gymnastics, lightning fast football tournament, rope jumping... well a lot of EXERCISE!! The shcool cafeteria was also involved, they gave delicious healthy breakfast alternatives for us to choose, The students were talking about nutrition, the importance of consume vegetables, fruit, of having breakfast everyday, the proper way of wash your hands but they also took the time to invent recipes, like strawberry yogurt, smoothies, tuna sandwiches, granola bars.... super yummy healthy FOOD!  We also had the fortune to have 2 Optical companies: Gunner Optiks El Salvador and Optical/ Lenses and accessories (They gave free eye exams),  Bio-Clinic Laboratoies (They took exams right here), Wegerich Medicines, and of course Gano ITouch El Salvador. I thank the Lord for this companies that took the time to talk and educate eveyone who approched them. The parents were also involved, much of them behind the scenes, but others were talking about the importance of the PAP, others were taking blood pressure, hemoglucotest, mass index and even free medical consultations! I thank the Lord, for each parent that took the time to work for free today,  You rock!! I am thankful for each teacher, because without their care and dedication to the kids, this wouldn't have been possible! And I am thankful for my boss, for believing and supporting this proyect. This fair has been a big step in Health education, not only talking but actually making them embrace healthy habits, by making them participants of all the process, studying, preparing and then sharing what they learned. In a so called "third world country", this brings a fresh air of hope for our feature!

 Esta semana ha sido una de las más ocupadas... Como pueden ver no he podido escribir y ha pasado mucho! Ahora tuvo lugar la 1 ra Feria de Salud que he hecho y también mi primer evento público como emprendedora en Gano ITouch/ Ganoexcel International. Estoy a cargo de la clínica
de una iglesia, mejor conocida como "La Capilla" El Salvador, que también tiene un colegio. Entonces Yo me encargo de cuidar la salud de los trabajadores de la iglesia, los maestros de la escuela, los estudiantes y de todos aquellos que quieran pasar consulta, porque la clínica esta abierta al público en general. Ahora por primera vez tuvimos una Feria de Salud para los estudiantes, sus padres y sus amigos. Alabado sea el Señor, Él se encargo de todo! El colegio entero estuvo involucrado! Trabajo en equipo! Hubo una bonita demostración de las habilidades de los estudiantes, danza, gimnasia, torneo relámpago de fútbol rápido, saltando cuerda... bueno mucho EJERCICIO! La cafetería del colegio también se involucro,  nos dieron alternativas de desayuno delicioso y saludable para que nosotros escogiéramos. los estudiantes estuvieron hablando sobre nutrición, la importancia de vegetales y fruta, de desayunar todos los días, la forma correcta de lavarse las manos, pero también se tomaron el tiempo de inventar recetas, como Yogurt de fresa, batidos, panes con atún, barras de granola... COMIDA super deliciosa! También tuvimos la fortuna de tener 2 ópticas: Gunner Optiks El Salvador y Optica/ Lentes y accesorios (Ellos dieron exámenes de la vista gratis),  Laboratorio Bio-Clinic (Tomaron exámenes aquí mismo), Wegerich Medicamentos, y claro, Gano ITouch El Salvador. Le doy gracias a Dios por las compañías que se tomaron el tiempo de hablar y educar a cada uno de los que se les acercaron. Los padres también se involucraron, muchos de ellos detrás de bambalinas, pero otros estuvieron hablando de la importancia de tomarnos la citología, otros estuvieron tomando presión arterial, hemogucotest, indice de masa corporal y hasta dieron consulta gratis! Yo agradezco al Señor por los padres que se tomaron el tiempo de trabajar de gratis! Son lo máximo! Estoy agradecida por cada maestro, porque sin su cuidado y dedicación por los niños esto no habría sido posible! Y estoy agradecida por mi jefa, por creer y apoyar este proyecto. Esta feria ha sido un gran paso de educación en Salud, no solo hablar, pero de hecho, hacer que ellos acojan habitos saludables, al hacerlos participes de todo el proceso, estudiando, preparando y después compartiendo lo que ellos aprendieron. En un tan llamado "país tercermundista", esto trae un aire fresco de esperanza para nuestro futuro!
